Waltzing Matilda – Fight for a ‘Fair Go!’
In 1891 Queensland shearers rallied to fight for better wages against hostile pastoralists. The bitter hostilities resulted in confrontations between the shearers and police. These events led to the birth of the union movement in Australia.
